How do Sun and Brown Spots develop?
Brown Spots are excess melanin in the skin caused by years of exposure to ultraviolet light from the sun and/or tanning beds. In addition, genetics, certain medications and hormones can play a part in the development of Sun and Brown Spots.
How does Laser Therapy Work to remove the spots?
Our Spectrum Laser destroys melanin-producing cells–called melanocytes–without damaging the skin’s surface. The Laser targets only the melanin producing cells and does not effect the surrounding skin. Treatments may require several sessions depending upon the pigmentation level.
When can I expect to see results?
Following treatment, these spots will fade over several weeks.
Is there any downtime or side effects with Laser Therapy for Brown Spots?
There is no recovery or downtime with Laser Therapy with the Spectrum Laser. And, there are few side effects.
