Endoscopic Mid Facelift
Facelift Surgeon Dr. Slupchynskyj believes that although growing older is inevitable, aging is optional. We tend to see age related changes in our mid face as soon as our 30’s and 40’s, depending upon your degree of sun exposure, skin elasticity and your overall health and lifestyle. We love to smile; however, over the years, this movement creates and deepens marionette lines and lines around our cheeks. Nasolabial folds arrive and deepen, making the area around or nose, mouth and chin appear heavy. Lips at their corners can become down turned which gives the appearance of sadness. An Endoscopic Mid Facelift is a popular and effective procedure to reverse the first signs of aging which appear in our mid face.
What is Endoscopic Mid Facelift Surgery?
Endoscopic Mid Facelift Surgery is performed through tiny incisions placed inconspicuously within the hairline of your temple area and on the inside of the mouth. This procedure is less invasive than a full Facelift therefore does not require as much downtime or healing. During the procedure the fat pads of your cheeks will be repositioned up and over the cheekbones where they belong. This re-draping will improve the nasal furrows, caused by drooping fat pads. An Endoscopic Mid face Lift is frequently performed in conjunction with Eyelid Surgery or Blepharoplasty, an Endoscopic Brow Lift or Cheek Augmentation to achieve optimal results.

Is An Endoscopic Mid Facelift Right for Me?
First, good health and realistic expectations are necessary for any successful result in Cosmetic Surgery. Endoscopic Mid Facelift Surgery is useful for patients with sagging cheeks, deeper nasal furrows, thinner lips and down-turned corners of the lips. One may simulate the results of this procedure by placing a finger next to the corner of your lip and gently elevating upward and outward.
Dr. Slupchynskyj will closely examine your facial features, structure and thoroughly describe what you can expect from Endoscopic Mid Facelift Surgery. Skin type, skin elasticity, individual healing, and bone structure. A thorough medical evaluation will be completed and risks, which may affect surgical outcome, will be discussed in depth. Before deciding on an Endoscopic Mid Facelift, you should discuss with Plastic Surgery provider Dr. Slupchynskyj whether the overall effect will be more successful if additional changes are made in the neck or eye areas through other Facial Surgery procedures such as an Endoscopic Forehead Lift, Neck Lift and Blepharoplasty. If several flaws need correction, multiple procedures may be necessary.
What can I Expect during My Endoscopic Mid Facelift Procedure? What is Dr. Slupchynsky’s Endoscopic Mid Facelift Technique?
Endoscopic Mid Facelift Surgery is performed with a combination of mild sedatives, local anesthesia, and a mild intravenous anesthesia, so you will experience little discomfort. An Endoscopic Mid Facelift can be performed as an outpatient procedure under local anesthesia with deep sedation, and may take 1 to 2 hours.
Some physicians try to move the nasal furrows and lift up the corners of the lips by pulling sideways. This often results in a pulled, tight, surgical look. The most important aspect of Dr. Slupchynskyj’s technique is that it lifts the cheek tissue vertically, straight up. This reverses the effects of gravity, which pulls straight down. A much more natural, refreshed and youthful appearance is the result.
\What can I Expect after My Endoscopic Mid Facelift Surgery Procedure and what is the Recovery Time?
Even though most patients experience very little pain after surgery, Dr. Slupchynskyj will still prescribe medication. Some degree of swelling and bruising is unavoidable, and Dr. Slupchynskyj may instruct you to use cold compresses to keep swelling to a minimum. Following Facial Surgery there is a minimal amount of discomfort. There will be some swelling and bruising that may last from seven to 12 days. Keeping your head elevated and application of cold compresses will help to reduce swelling. As your incisions heal, you will notice some itching and possibly some numbness. These symptoms will diminish over time. You may wear make-up immediately, and your sutures will be removed in seven to ten days.
