Got turkey neck? Loose skin and fat on the neck are common, but also very treatable. Come see Dr. Slupchynskyj and explore your options. Tighten up your neck and improve your appearance with one of these recommended treatments. We offer both minimally invasive and surgical procedures to treat turkey necks, double chins, and sagging neck skin.
BOTOX® for Neck
If you have platysmal banding on the neck, BOTOX® may be able to help. Platysmal banding can cause unwanted neck lines and the appearance of a turkey neck. A few properly placed BOTOX® injections can tighten the platysmal muscles, creating a “BOTOX® Facelift”. The results are temporary and last 3-4 months per treatment. This can be a nice facelift alternative for the right patient.
The best candidates for this treatment will have platysmal banding with little to no fat or excess skin. Some patients will need a follow-up treatment after one week. The injections must be carefully placed, so it is very important to choose a surgeon that has performed many BOTOX® treatments for neck banding.
Neck Liposuction
Unwanted fat often gathers and develops in the neck and under the chin. Like a pedestal displaying a fine piece of art, a shapely neck can highlight your facial beauty and draw attention to the shape of your chin and face. If you have excess fat under the chin or on the neck, ask us about neck liposuction, also known as submental liposuction.
This treatment removes excess fatty tissue deposits from the neck and chin area. It redefines the neck and chin and eliminates the appearance of a double chin. Incisions are carefully hidden in natural creases to ensure that scarring is minimal and inconspicuous. Some neck liposuction treatments use a laser from inside the incision to tighten skin and prevent sagging.
Neck liposuction can be performed on its own, but is commonly paired with facelift or neck lift surgery. This treatment on its own is ideal for patients with good quality skin under the chin and on the neck. If you have sagging in addition to fat, a facelift or neck lift is likely a better choice.
Neck Lift Surgery
Tighten up your neck with a neck lift. This procedure removes excess skin and fat from the neck and under the chin. Dr. Slupchynskyj typically avoids vertical neck incisions due to the potential for scarring. By carefully placing incisions in inconspicuous locations, he can rejuvenate the neck with less visible scarring. A neck lift or mini-jowl lift can dramatically improve the appearance of the skin under the chin. Talk with us about your options.
Facelift for Neck
One of the most effective options for tightening the neck and reversing facial aging is the facelift. The face and neck don’t age alone. As the tissues in the face relax and begin to sag, so do the tissues in the neck. A facelift can correct sagging on the face, neck, and jowls.
No two faces are alike and Dr. Slupchynskyj believes in applying a personalized approach to each facelift he performs. We offer a variety of procedures including a mini-facelift, the SLUPLift, and a traditional facelift. We’ll help you choose the best options for rejuvenating your face and neck.
Does a Facelift Improve the Appearance of the Neck?
Many of our patients assume that a facelift only rejuvenates the face and a neck lift is the only option for restoring a youthful appearance to the neck. The reality is, a facelift can correct many signs of aging on both the face and neck including turkey neck and jowling. During your consultation, we’ll carefully examine your face and neck and recommend the treatment options that will best meet your goals.
Why Less Is More- The SLUPLift for Neck Rejuvenation
One of our favorite options for rejuvenating the face and neck is our less invasive SLUPLift. We’ve found that this revolutionary procedure can provide results that are on-par or better than a facelift with smaller incisions, less recovery time, and less facial trauma. Ask us if the SLUPLift is right for you.
Tips for an Effective Neck Lift
Tighten up your neck with a facelift or neck lift. These tips will help you get the best results from your procedure.
- Tighten Up- Whatever procedure you choose, make sure the SMAS and Platysma are tightened.
- Steer Clear of Non-Surgical Options– In general, non-surgical treatments for loose skin on the neck are not worth the time or money.
- Choose Your Surgeon Carefully- There is a big difference between a good facelift and a bad one. Choose your plastic surgeon carefully. Look for board-certification and extensive facelift experience.
Excellent results are possible after a face or neck lift, but only if you work with a highly skilled surgeon. If you’re in the New York or New Jersey area, call us to schedule your consultation with Dr. Slupchynskyj.
