Facelift Before and After Photos.
Facelift Procedure Information.
The Vampire Facelift is not actual facelift surgery, but a non-surgical procedure in which the patient's own blood is injected into the face to smooth out wrinkles. It is being touted as useful for patients who are looking for a volumizing effect, and there are unsubstantiated claims it will last up to two years. The product that is used to create the vampire lift is marketed under the name Selphyl. Though this "lift" technique has been promoted on national TV shows and local news programs, there are no clinical studies to support whether the Vampire Lift is an effective filler with lasting results.
Dr. Slupchynskyj does not perform the Vampire Lift due to the lack of research or scientific studies proving the efficacy of Selphyl.
Blood tissues are first drawn out from the patient's arm and the platelets are then separated (or centrifuged) from the white and red blood cells. The platelets are added to a serum to create a platelet rich fibrin matrix (PRFM), which is injected under the skin. Aesthetic Factors, LLC, the company that produces Selphyl claims that this procedure helps build collagen under the skin over time. The full results of the vampire facelift are not immediate and do not appear until a few weeks after the procedure.
Disadvantages of the Vampire Facelift include:
- No objective data showing proven lasting results. It is a relatively new procedure without a long track record of successful results and satisfied patients.
- It is most effective with people who show little signs of aging.
- It cannot be used to treat the whole face, only selected areas.
