New York Tear Trough Treatment – Dr. Oleh Slupchynskyj
One of the most common signs of aging is loss of volume around the face, and this tends to appear quite frequently underneath the eyes. When the fat pads that support the lower eyelid shrink, undereye “bags” can appear and make you look tired, and your eye area appears hollow or sunken. The area called the “tear trough” is especially susceptible to these effects. This is the area that slopes from the inner corner of the eye down toward the cheek.
Dr. Oleh Slupchynskyj has years of experience treating the tear trough with dermal fillers at his New York City facial plastic surgery practice. Dermal filler treatment is not permanent, but it is very safe and the effects will last for a long time.
Dr. Slupchynskyj’s favorite dermal fillers are Juvederm®™, Restylane®™, Radiesse®™ and Sculptra®™. Juvederm®™; and Restylane®™ are hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers. Radiesse®™ is a calcium hydroxyapatite-based filler and Sculptra®™ is made from a substance called poly-l-lactic acid. Each product has its own set of benefits, and Dr. Slupchynskyj can discuss these with you in greater detail during your personal consultation. After examining your facial structure, Dr. Slupchynskyj will recommend certain dermal fillers to use on the tear trough area. He will advise how often you should repeat treatment to maintain your results.
During your treatment session, Dr. Slupchynskyj may use one of several techniques to minimize any discomfort: numbing cream is a popular choice. Then, he will inject the filler into the tear trough area at specific points. The filler will add volume to the tear trough, rejuvenating the area and reversing the hollow and sunken look. Your face will no longer have bags or dark circles under the eyes.
Dr. Slupchynskyj may decide that he needs several treatment sessions to achieve the desired result. He likes to take a conservative approach so that the outcome looks natural and harmonious with the patient’s facial features.
