NEW YORK, September 29, 2015

Top New York City Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Oleh Slupchynskyj has released an e-Book titled, Why Less is More: Not Your Mother’s Facelift, for consumers interested in Facelift Surgery. The book, officially available for sale on Amazon Kindle is intended to fill a void of missing information available to consumers seeking Facelift Surgery to reverse signs of facial aging. Today, Facelifts are routine and while there are numerous surgical Facelift techniques employed, not all are created equal nor produce stellar results.

“Facelift Surgery allows men and women to knock ten years off of their appearance, enhance their self esteem, perception of themselves, thereby increasing their quality of life, but not all surgical techniques can accomplish these goals and some without risk to the patient,” reports Dr. Slupchynskyj. Traditional Facelift Surgery employs invasive techniques that tighten loose skin. “Older patients may sometimes require this route, though I see many patients demanding something less traumatic that will still produce excellent results,” continues Dr. Slupchynskyj. In response to numerous requests for a minimally invasive option, he developed a unique technique known as the SLUPlift™. This Mini Facelift delivers the same, long lasting results as a traditional lift, without large incisions, General Anesthesia or a lengthy recovery time. It is important for anyone seeking Facelift Surgery to understand the major distinctions between a Traditional Facelift, a Mini Facelift, like the SLUPlift™, as well as the differences among all surgical and non-surgical Facelifting techniques that are employed today. Why Less is More: Not Your Mother’s Facelift accurately informs consumers about these distinctions.

Dr. Oleh Slupchynskyj a Revision Rhinoplasty Specialist, and recently published in Thieme’s prestigious Facial Plastic Surgery Journal, examines two of the most common complications that indicate the need for Revision Nose Surgery in patients of ethnic descent.

“Common requests of my Ethnic Rhinoplasty patients are nasal bridge elevation, refinement of a bulbous or rounded nasal tip and nostril narrowing,” Dr. Slupchynskyj reports. “There are several methods to achieve a higher nasal bridge including utilizing cartilage harvested from septum, ear and rib. In many cases, these nasal dorsal implants lack the volume and shape for adequate nasal dorsal augmentation. Likewise, preformed alloplastic, or synthetic nasal implants are ‘one-size-fits-all’ and do not address the individual needs of patients requiring different width, length or height.”

New York Plastic Surgeon Launches Revolutionary Series of Medical Videos on YouTube

NEW YORK, May 5 – (PRNewswire) – Manhattan Facial Plastic Surgeon Oleh Slupchynskyj, MD has developed breakthrough educational videos for YouTube, which are paving the way for how the medical community can inform consumers about plastic surgery do’s and don’ts, risks and benefits. YouTube, Inc. is a consumer media company for people to view and share original videos through the Web. Created initially for patients who wanted to learn all aspects of and watch firsthand the most popular plastic surgery procedures before choosing to undergo treatment themselves, each video has received the highest of ratings since just being posted on YouTube. The videos include live surgery footage, patient testimonials plus before-and-after photos for Facelift Surgery, Rhinoplasty, or Nose Surgery, Blepharoplasty and Lip Augmentation “This is not a media or public relations campaign,” reports Dr. Slupchynskyj, Director and Founder of The Aesthetic Facial Surgery Institute of New York and New Jersey. “Patient education is one of the guiding principles of my medical practice. I have chosen to harness the vast potential of user-generated content for educational purposes, so informed decisions can be made by patients with the goal of looking their best.”

In addition to live surgery footage, Slupchynskyj not only discusses in-depth but illustrates specific anatomy of the face being treated, explains what problem the surgical and/or non-surgical procedure corrects and how, its risks and benefits, who is a candidate and who is definitely not, what to expect during the procedure and recovery time. “There is nothing worse than seeing an unhappy patient whose plastic surgery procedure was borne of the myriad misguided, non-physician/doctor-driven information available in print media, TV and online, which only serves to sell a story, not educate. On the other hand,” Dr. Slupchynskyj said, “There is no greater satisfaction than seeing a happy patient whose goal of looking their best has been achieved, but this begins first with selecting a Dr. specializing in your area of interest and then absolutely making sure you have all the same detailed procedural information, photos and surgery footage, all of which I include in my educational videos. I believe this is the only way for patients to truly make an informed decision which ensures a positive and successful surgical outcome.”

New York Plastic Surgeon Performs Pro Bono Surgery on Disadvantaged Patient Where Health Insurance Coverage was Denied

New York, NY, February 25, 2008 – (PR.com) – Manhattan based facial plastic surgeon and Director of the Aesthetic Facial Surgery Center of New York and New Jersey, Oleh Slupchynskyj, M.D., offers his skill and compassion to a Brooklyn, New York woman tormented physically and emotionally from a medical condition not covered by her health insurance.

Lisa, 26, suffered in silence for years due to numerous painfully tender, large and disfiguring tumorous like growths, or keloids, on all areas of her back. “After many frustrating attempts to get herself treated, Lisa came to see me because I specialize in keloid surgery. I am not, however, in her health insurance plan’s network of doctors thus her surgical fee would be paid out of her own pocket”, Dr. Slupchynskyj reported. “Lisa advised me she sought help from doctors within her insurance plan’s network, however none specialized in keloid surgery, nor would perform the procedure necessary to treat her. She had also just been laid off from her job”, Dr. Slupchynskyj continued. Lisa could not afford the five figure surgical fee herself, her health insurance stated they would deny covering services performed by an out-of-network doctor and none of the in-network doctors she saw knew how to perform the procedure. Who could help her? “I clearly had to”, said Dr. Slupchynskyj.

“In Lisa’s case, she had 5 separate keloids that grew to unsightly proportions and were painful to the touch”, Dr. Slupchynskyj states. These growths made it difficult for Lisa to wear a bra and any clothing which hung close to her skin. Keloids are tough scars from a prior injury or trauma that rise abruptly above the skin, are irregularly shaped, may enlarge progressively and do not subside over time. At a prime time in her life, Lisa was living in anguish, feeling ashamed, self-conscious and often called herself “elephant girl”. Dr. Slupchynskyj felt compelled to perform the surgery pro bono, for free on February 6, 2008. Dr. Slupchynskyj was not aware that exactly one week later on February 13th, New York State Attorney General Cuomo would announce his investigation into and intent to sue health insurers defrauding patients’ payment for out of network medical expenses. How does Lisa feel now? Dr. Slupchynskyj reports, “My patient tells me this is life changing not just physically, but emotionally. She’s learning to like herself and quite frankly, there is no greater satisfaction than helping to heal and restore a patient’s outlook on their self and their life.”

New York Plastic Surgeon Develops Ground Breaking Face Lift Technique Performed Under Local Anesthesia Promising Instant Results and Faster Recovery

New York, NY, September 19, 2007 – (PR.com) – Manhattan based facial plastic surgeon and Director of the Aesthetic Facial Surgery Center of New York and New Jersey, Oleh Slupchynskyj, M.D., has developed a breakthrough facial cosmetic treatment offering immediate and long lasting results in approximately 60 minutes.

The SLUPlift™ proves to be the most innovative face lift procedure in cosmetic surgery. Developed for his international patients who did not want a long recovery period nor sedation, the SLUPlift™ is performed as an outpatient procedure under local anesthesia, and can reverse the “age” clock by 10 years or more. The lift starts with a small incision of 2-3 inches in front of the earlobe and elevation of the skin just in front of the earlobe. The muscle is then threaded in a loop fashion to tighten the jowl area. This minimally invasive technique means patients can typically return to work the next day with little or no bruising or swelling.

What are the advantages of the SLUPlift™ and why not do a “Thread Lift” instead? “The muscle under the skin is sutured in my procedure, so it will not loosen over time,” Dr. Slupchynskyj reports. “The result is much longer lasting with a more beautiful, natural appearance. Barbs used in thread lifts hold fat (which pulls the underlying skin) and dissolve in a short period of time. Threads that grasp fat, not muscle, create a short-term and unnatural result. Risks of thread lift procedures include thread migration, which may cause an imbalanced facial appearance without further treatment, threads becoming dislodged during sleep, and bunching of excess skin,” states Dr. Slupchynskyj. The SLUPlift™ has none of those risks. Dr. Slupchynskyj asks, who wouldn’t want to look 10 years younger in one hour with results lasting up to 10 years? And, you can return to work the next day.”

Oleh Slupchynskyj, M.D. is the Director and Founder of The Aesthetic Facial Surgery Institute of New York and New Jersey with offices in Manhattan and Chatham and has been in private practice for over 10 years. Born and raised in Manhattan, Dr. Slupchynskyj is double board certified through the American Board of Facial Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology with training specific to the head, neck and face.
